SUPPORTING YOUTH ATHLETICS

Each year the Dover Police Charities spends approximately $4,000 to assist youth sports leagues and initiatives. Police employees sometimes coach the team that the Dover Police Charities is sponsoring in the name of the Police Department. This provides an even greater connection between the police department and the youth or families involved. We also work with sports programs to help them bring a message to the players about how important it is to be the best athlete you possibly can and to not let tobacco, alcohol or other drugs interfere with that.
